Robert Trivers

Robert Trivers appears in over 60 emails in Epstein's archive spanning 2013 to 2018. He is one of the most influential evolutionary biologists alive, known for reciprocal altruism theory and parent-offspring conflict. He lunched at Epstein's Manhattan townhouse alongside Ehud Barak in December 2013. In December 2017, he thanked Epstein for financial support that had left him "$160,000 richer than a year ago" and described an arrangement where Epstein would match academic salary offers at an 80/20 split. He planned to use Epstein's funds for genetics research on "elite sprinters and the West African populations from which they sprang." Three months later, he sent Epstein a joke about Igbo slaves being deported from the U.S. to Jamaica, comparing Epstein's physical value to a slave's market price.
