Noam Chomsky appears in over 50 direct correspondence emails with Epstein in the archive, spanning June 2015 to May 2018. In June 2015, Epstein told Chomsky he was "researching how to start a new financial system for Zimbabwe," calling it "a clean petrie dish." Chomsky replied with a detailed analysis of how Cuba's military role in Angola ended South African apartheid. In September 2015, Epstein brokered a three-way meeting between Chomsky and Ehud Barak at Harvard, and took a photo. In October 2015, Chomsky thanked Epstein for visiting "on your way to Senegal," placing Epstein in Senegal in late October 2015. Valeria Chomsky coordinated scheduling. Epstein forwarded Chomsky's private critique of Israeli policy to Barak, titling it "Question from Chomsky, private of course." The relationship continued after Epstein's 2008 conviction.
