« Reputations Converge » : comment Epstein présenta Larry Summers à Karim Wade à Doha

Le 29 novembre 2016, Epstein envoya un email de présentation aux deux hommes : "larry, karim, karim - larry, larry will be in doha on wed, i think you two would enjoy meeting" (HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_026028-0). Wade, écrivant depuis le compte Afri zp, répondit : "I'll be very please to meet or take you for diner" (HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_026028-2).

Summers écrivit à Epstein séparément deux heures plus tard : "Who is the guy you have set me up with?" (HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_026028-1). Epstein répondit par un briefing complet : "Karim Wade. is the son of the president of Senegal. ( they just found GAS offshore ). He is well educated and one of the most important figures in west africa. however full disclosure, he was put in jail to remove him from running against the current president He is in qatar awaiting his political return to power which is almost guaranteed. He is the most charismatic ,and rational of all the africans and has theire respect" (HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_026028-3).

La réponse de Summers arriva le soir même : "Always quiet advice to anybody who can use it. Try always discreet. If u become associated publicly w something the reputations converge. Looking fwd to meeting Karim" (HOUSE_OVERSIGHT_026028-4). Le même email, envoyé depuis son iPad, incluait son identifiant Twitter et une ligne renvoyant toute demande de rendez-vous à son bureau.

Epstein tentait cette présentation depuis cinq ans. En septembre 2011, un membre de son équipe écrivit : "le just said Karim will be coming Friday and has me asking Larry Summers if he can come as well..this could become an initimate dinner!" (EFTA02182743-0). En novembre 2016, la rencontre eut enfin lieu, à Doha.
