Epstein demanda au chef du Conseil de l'Europe d'intervenir dans l'affaire Karim Wade

En mars 2013, Epstein coordonnait une rencontre entre Bill Gates et Thorbjorn Jagland, secrétaire général du Conseil de l'Europe. Gates devait être au Ghana le 26. Epstein demanda si Jagland pouvait venir à Paris à la place : "would it be posssible for you to come to paris on the 27th.. you could stay with me either the night of the 26 or the night of the 27. If not I understand, and i will have him fly to you and take a hotel." Jagland répondit depuis son iPad : "Therefore you an bill could come on the 25. I have a lot of bedrooms if necessary. We need to talk on the phone" (EFTA01899919-0). Un délinquant sexuel condamné organisait le voyage de Bill Gates pour rencontrer le chef du Conseil de l'Europe.

La rencontre exigeait le secret. La même semaine, Epstein dit à Boris Nikolic : "wewill need two hours or so prior to jagland, he wants it very very private. others can meeet in paris if you want" (EFTA01898409-0). La visite eut lieu. Ensuite, Epstein écrivit à Nikolic : "Jagland Thorborn had a great time and really enjoyed the visit. Bill should put together his requirements for further review by the IPI team and not let it happen at the subordinate level" (EFTA01897000-0).

Jagland devint un hôte régulier. En septembre 2013, Epstein dit à Nina Keita, nièce du président Ouattara : "you can also tell your uncle that bill gates, chud barak, who he recently met with and thorbom jagland, sec general counsel of the councsel of europe will be at the house. if we would like to join he is welcone" (EFTA01957828-0). En mars 2014, Epstein invita Richard Branson à rencontrer Jagland sur son île : "thorbjom jagland, head of the nobel peace prize commitcc will be staying duiring caster if you want to vist or i can bring him to you." Branson déclina : "Sadly in Morocco at that time" (EFTA01934478-0).

En février 2015, l'agenda de Lesley Groff confirmait : "Jagland to stay with Jeffrey at the Paris apartment March 5-8." Le même agenda incluait Ariane de Rothschild le 1er mars, un vol pour Marrakech le 7 mars, et Mark Lloyd rencontrant Epstein le même jour (EFTA02363562-0).

Quatre mois plus tard, Epstein formula sa demande. Le 10 juillet 2015, il écrivit à Jagland : "my friend karim wade, son of the former president of senegal, was minister there and put on trial for corruption, the un said the trial was a farce. and as he has a french passport i wondered if he could bring his case to your court" (vol00009-efta00851804-pdf-0). Karim Wade avait été condamné à six ans pour enrichissement illicite par un tribunal sénégalais en 2015. Epstein travaillait à sa libération par des lobbyistes washingtoniens depuis 2014. Il demandait maintenant au secrétaire général du Conseil de l'Europe si Wade pouvait utiliser sa nationalité française pour accéder à la Cour européenne des droits de l'homme.

Jagland répondit le 25 juillet : "Hi Jeffrey, all of a sudden I discovered that I've haven't replied. Yes, given the fact that Karim has a French passport, it should be possible. But I don't know wether this case has been in French courts. Tell me more. Summer is cold in Norway" (vol00009-efta00850487-pdf-0). Le secrétaire général du Conseil de l'Europe, l'institution qui supervise la CEDH, disait à un délinquant sexuel condamné que l'affaire de son ami pourrait probablement être portée devant sa cour.

Epstein fournit les détails : "he is the son of the president of senegal. he was running against the current president, they began a corruption inquiry and sentenced him to six years in jail. he is a very good guy. the first went to the UN and the un report said that the trial was not conducted appropriatley and should be void. the president has ignored it. Karim Wade has a french passport as well as a senegalize. IF there was someone in your org that i could have his attny explain the facts, that would be helpful" (EFTA02493550-0).

En mars 2019, quatre mois avant son arrestation, Epstein envoya à son avocat Darren Indyke une liste intitulée "Numbers in case of trouble." Elle disait : "Miro. Terje lang ruemmler rothschild Jagland jabor" (EFTA02637447-0). Jagland était l'une des sept personnes qu'Epstein envisageait d'appeler si les choses tournaient mal. Jagland quitta le Conseil de l'Europe en septembre 2019, deux mois après l'arrestation d'Epstein.
