Hi M I think that outside of water and other opportunities in Africa we should seriously position the solid waste business soon as it is probably the most actionable from my end with real money that I can put behind that if the prep is right. My thoughts: • if your solid waste team is going to be looking for jobs, lets position this as a spinoff from the foundation • Pitch is: we think we can solve problems while at the same time do good business, Foundation does not allow us to exploit profit opportunities • Sustainable business built around plastics and other solid waste resources (including bonemeal) in Africa If you get a team together I could stand in front of the Board and fund it. It would require a business plan with a clear path to profitability. You should be CEO and use that as a platform to then do other things in Africa, but it would pay the bills. I am seeing lots of other opportunities (we are building sustainable homes in Luanda, a Norwegian friend is quoting to build 2500 homes in Chad, etc), desalination, water bottling and of course bonemeal in Somaliland (which is also a kind of waste so it would even fit in the solid waste remit... Q are whether • you can position it as a spinoff with the explicit blessing of the foundation (so that you might still be able to use them as a potential calling card for access. • there are any team members that you would / should have on board • there is someone of the foundation who could serve as a board member - we can build a business plan based on facts what the timing for a trip would be. The faster the better Where would you base yourselves? Seattle is OK for a transition as the team is based there and as such would not mean extra costs but not credible long term. Talk soon'
