Former president's son summoned by military police over corruption claims Paramilitary police summoned Karim Wade, son of former president Abdouyle Wade, on 8 November as part of their investigations into corruption allegations made against the former minister.

Comment: Wade has been ordered to present himself to the investigating officers on 15 November. He has previously been questioned in July over the corruption allegations. Several other former ministers will also be questioned. The accused are suspected of illegally acquiring wealth during their time in public office. Wade served as Minister of State for International Cooperation, Regional Development, Air Transport, and Infrastructure from May 2009 to April 2012. President Macky Sall was elected in March 2012 and pledged to tackle corruption and repatriate illegally acquired wealth from former leaders.
